Letters from Home
This is Letters from Home, a monthly newsletter that feels like home. An ever-evolving, wildish mosaic of my internal landscape, musings, gratitudes and soft reminders.
Home has many meanings ranging from the home we keep inside to the home we keep within four physical walls. It could be a person. A place. A piece of music. A worn-in flannel. Whatever or wherever or whoever it is, it creates feelings of warmth and grounded joy.
Which is what this newsletter is all about.
Welcome home.
This is the same newsletter we’ve been hanging out in for a couple of years but in a new space. A new home all for itself.
The exciting addition is a paid feature, which is extremely supportive to me and my art and is another avenue for me to share my work off of social media. I started this Substack account in October and after many months of sitting on it, I decided I’m worthy of receiving payment for my work. What a bold choice in a world that tells artists their work should be handed out freely and with no compensation or worth. It’s an exciting time to decide to be worthy.
Free subscribers will receive a weekly newsletter every Tuesday with an essay, musings of the heart, mind and body, gratitudes and anything else that decides to come through that day. This is similar to the Letters from Home newsletter I’ve been sharing for the last couple of years.
Paid subscribers will receive all of the above (the weekly Tuesday letter) along with monthly journal prompts that focus on our senses and reclaiming the present moment, new work of mine (including fiction pieces I’ve never shared before!!), audio readings and anything additionally magical that comes through that month. Paid subscribers will also have access to leaving comments and engaging with community.
I’m excited to have a space to write for writing sake and to share it with people who value that. I truly believe writing to be transcendental — to know I can connect with someone halfway across the world without ever meeting them, simply because words connect us and our very human experiences — feels like total magic to me. A gift from another world.
I hope these letters brings you joy. I hope they offer a sense of belonging, a reminder you’re not alone. I hope they slow down time and offer peace and reflection. I hope they feel warm and inviting, I hope they feel like tea and homemade soup. I hope that above all, they offer a place to rest in a wary and chaotic world and I hope that we get to connect through them because I want to know more about you and I’m really happy you’re here.
